Post subject: About Turkey
Archived from groups: alt>culture>turkish>travel (more info?)

First of all, I am proud of being a Turk. This doesn't mean I
am against anyone who isn't Turk. I have been working with
foreigners for more than 20 years and we are all good friends.
I read all you wrote here about Turkey. I think you
exxaggerate your experiences. Big deal! This doesn't mean
everybody in Turkey is the same. You can be attacked or robbed
-or whatever- in any part of the world. You come here and
something happens and you start to speak about Turkey in a
negative way. You insult us. Someone wrote;his girl friend was
blond and men on the street looked at her as if they'd seen a
blond woman in their lives. Maybe this is true but only for
some parts. You know nothing about Turkish history.
Civilization started in our country.-In Anatolia. A lot of
well-known empires settled and lived here for centuries. There
are numerous historical places and ruins here. There is no
need to talk about natural beauties- the seas, the sun.
Turkish cousin is one of the best in the world. Turkish
hospitality is also well-known but I think some unfriendly
people misunderstand this. When I was out of Turkey some bad
things happened to me but I didn't blame the whole country. I
think people shouldn't be provoked by others.
